Fischer entered his family business, a Troy-based automotive dealership called Suburban Oldsmobile (the only dealership at that time), as a service advisor back in 1968. Since then David Fischer has put his heart and soul into the business, growing its outreach and ultimately putting it on the map as the Michigan’s largest privately held automotive group. Now, David T. Fischer is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Suburban Collection – Michigan’s largest privately held automotive group and 16th largest in the country – and he’s still just as passionate about taking care of customers as he was on his first day as an advisor.

David T. Fischer studied Business at Parsons College in Iowa and joined the team at Suburban Oldsmobile with a unique perspective: the group needed to offer brand diversity, but keep its focus on its roots in Southeastern Michigan. Now, The Suburban Collection is the largest privately-held automotive group in Michigan. It encompasses 36 brands at over 52 locations throughout Michigan, as well as throughout the Midwest and Southern California. Additionally, the automotive group operates state-of-the-art collision centers, accessories distribution centers, fleet management and retrofitting services throughout the U.S. and Canada.
