The 12th Annual Troy Traffic Jam
The Suburban Collection was a proud sponsor of yet another successful Troy Traffic Jam, to benefit the Troy Historical Society. The 12th Annual event was held on August 4 at the Columbia Center. Thousands of people were on site to admire classic cars— some to enter theirs into a juried competition.
This year, over 300 automobiles were featured. Whether interested in the classics, famous muscle cars, or other makes and models, there was a car there for everyone. Attendees had the opportunity to view the vehicles, talk to the owners and watch the competitive judging process Overall, 21 awards were handed out to winners in a multitude of categories. It truly was a day to marvel at the best in automotive form, function, design and engineering. In fact, it was a perfect preview and warm up to the Woodward Dream Cruise.
The Troy Historical Society was established in 1966 and over the past 50 years-plus the organization and its members have worked to maintain the beauty and history of the town by restoring historic buildings and managing extensive artifact and archival collections. Events such as Traffic Jam help bring visitors to the village and build awareness for the incredible work they do to keep the past alive. If you have not yet experienced the village, it is a must visit.
